Garden reform in Casaquemada, Madrid, 2017. We had transformed the old garden, creating a main axis aligned from the house and accentuated by a basalt sculpture. The wide and open grass area is embraced by large undulating beds with perennials, grasses and shrubs adapted to woodland conditions. The main constraints of the garden were the large conifers, which made it very dark. We made a pruning of the bottom of the canopy of the trees so more light could came in, and we planted 25 cms of soil on the roots of the conifers so that the new plants would start well in their new location.
