This is a country house in Cebreros, Ávila. The garden ends at the water of a reservoir in the Alberche river. The garden has steep slopes, it was difficult to resolve. We aimed to achieve the feeling that the garden has always been there. We have used a grid for the planting plan with the same size of the grid used to design the house. So everything matched in proportion, the plantings, the paths and the size of the terraces. This is a collaboration with estudio entresitio. The planting design was developed with a few species in big masses, cistus, erica darleyensis, euphorbia amygdaloides, vinca minor… and accent plants used in “pixels” like cytisus scoparius, pinus mugo, malus Everest, pistacea therebinthus… And we had planted a madroño (Arbutus unedo) and encina (Quercus ilex) hedge, in a mediterranean style planting, for sun and shade. We priorized in this garden design an easy maintenance, as the garden is very difficult to walk in.
